Week two - storyboarding and camera angles

Rule of thirds

The story

Its a warm day and a school is taking a trip to the zoo
All the children are excited , they have theirs faces painted and have bags of sweeties.
They arrive at the zoo and the teacher tries to control the children
A young girl runs straight over to the monkey enclosure and bangs hard on the glass
she makes funny faces and taunts the monkey, throwing in bits of wrapper from her sweets
The monkey is fed up, he sneaks out a door when the zookeeper comes in and sneaks up behind the girl
The girl doesn't realise the monkey is behind her, the monkey lifts the girl by her pigtails and throws her into the cage

Week one - script writing

We were put into groups of 5 to start brainstorming short stories. The first thing we had to do was pick an environment and write out all the details of what it would look like. This would give us a good starting point and we could work from there.
So we listed places that came into our heads first. The beach, a corner shop, the zoo and universities were some of them. We decided to pick the zoo. When we were writing out the details we were thinking of the zoo in the animated film, Madagascar.
We then had to write out our characters. As the zoo is a place for children we decided to create a young girl. While we were talking about how she would look we were referencing the girl out of finding nemo.
